Accounting

Stage 1 (2 units)

This course aims to develop:

  • knowledge and skills, enabling students to recognise, understand, record, report and communicate financial information for decision-making;
  • critical understanding of the relationship of these skills to social, legal, regulatory, and ethical considerations;
  • knowledge and skills in the use of information and communication technology in the accounting process;
  • ability to participate effectively and responsibly in changing social, political, legal, and economic environments;
  • capacity to analyse, critically examine, and interpret financial and non-financial information, and to contribute to future planning and decision-making for a range of accounting entities.
