Studies of Society
Stage 1 (2 units)
This course consists of two comparative studies and two analytical studies.
The comparative study will focus on a comparison of two or more societies or cultures, or aspects of them. Students will identify, discuss, and evaluate similarities and differences in order to develop a breadth of understanding through comparison. Topics: Lobby groups and social, change, Power, authority and change, Prejudice and discrimination, Subcultures in Australian society.
