The Early Years Co-Curriculum
Assembly Presentations

Our students are encouraged from an early age to engage in public presentations. We run weekly assemblies at which different year levels present their current class projects. Sometimes students use drama to display their achievements in a more entertaining way.
Last year (2005) Year 2 students provided us with an amusing and informative science presentation where they demonstrated some of the experiments, which they had investigated and carried out during the term. All of the Year 2 students were involved and they each had a part to play during the presentation. Their enthusiasm and knowledge were displayed in all their demonstrations.
Two of the experiments we were shown were: "Is oil heavier than water?" and "How can you tell whether an egg is raw or cooked?"
We believe that presenting at assemblies instills in students a pride for their achievements and helps them to overcome their stage fright.
