Book Week
Book Week is an annual Australia-wide celebration, in which the winning and honour books of the Children's Book of the Year awards are announced. Our school participates in this celebration by including a variety of activities in our curriculum, including our traditional Book Week Parade.
Children and staff introduce us to their favourite book by representing one of the characters in the book. They might make a mask, wear a costume, make a puppet or bring their book to school. We support these activities in our classrooms in art and technology and literacy. The Book Week Parade is followed by a shared morning tea with students, staff and parents. This creative and fun event illustrates how many wonderful and inspiring books are being written for our enjoyment.
