Road Safety Excursion
In the Early Years we teach our students how to be safe inside and outside of school. We sometimes take them to the Road Safety School to offer them a practical learning experience.
In 2005, the students met a police officer, who talked about being safe near and around roads. They also watched a video and then put on helmets before riding around an enclosed road on push bikes. The road had traffic lights, a train crossing and pedestrian lights. After the bike ride, the children were allowed to have a look at the police horses and their stables. It was a valuable learning experience that showed students in a practical way how to protect themselves in traffic.
