English Literacy 
Literacy is an essential component of the Reception to Year 2 programs. Our literacy programs involve reading, writing, listening, viewing and speaking lessons, which are strands within the SACSA framework. Each year our students build upon their prior knowledge of literacy. Lessons are run involving the whole class, small groups and independent work involving hands-on activities that students eagerly participate in.
At the Islamic College teachers use a variety of teaching methods to assist the students in their learning. Our students' are encouraged to share their personal and cultural experiences with their peers.
Literacy is not only taught through specific literacy programs; it occurs through all areas of the curriculum. This is beneficial to the students as they link literacy with everyday life.
