Qur'anic and Islamic Studies ![]()
Qur'anic studies during the Early Years of the Islamic College of South Australia aims at introducing the students to the Qur'an. We want our students to appreciate its importance as the word of God. Our students start to memorize short chapters of the Qur'an and learn the meaning of those chapters. They are also introduced to the practice of reciting the Holy Qur'an according to the basic rules of recitation.
In Islamic Studies our students are introduced to the principles of the Islamic faith, Aqeedah, i.e. the pillars of Islam and the pillars of faith. In jurisprudence our students learn the basic Islamic practices. Since they are too young to implement most of the Islamic rituals they learn about Islamic practices in a general way.
Another aspect of Islamic Studies in the Early Years is Islamic History (including stories about the prophets), Adaab and Akhlaaq (Manners and Ethics), where they learn to respect parents and cultivate good manners.
