Book Week
During the annual Book Week the Islamic College offers a range of activities for student participation. They teach students how enjoyable and valuable literature is. One such activity was a visit from Australian Author Rodney Fox last year (2005), who is the survivor of a near fatal shark attack in 1963 at Aldinga Beach. He wrote a book called "Sharkman" which talks about his experiences with sharks. The students enjoyed reading his book and asked him many questions about sharks.
Rodney Fox presented to the children for over an hour. Everyone in the room was enthralled by his exciting tales about sharks. He also gave us some information about his research and conservation work with sharks. His visit contributed to our enjoyment of reading.
