Wheelchair Sports
At the Islamic College we want our students to become empathic individuals who are capable of putting themselves in another person's situation.
As part of our health curriculum our Year 6 students studied the topic of 'Disabilities' and experienced Wheelchair Sports. They were able to play a game of basketball whilst sitting in a wheelchair. It was a great experience as students learnt about the challenges faced by people suffering from paraplegia. For our students it was good to experience being confined in a wheelchair for a period of time.
