Information and Communication Technology ![]()
At the Islamic College of South Australia we believe in the use of computers across the curriculum to support students' learning. For instance, students investigate mathematical ideas and practice their literacy and communication skills via the internet and e-mail. Students can explore new programs, develop problem solving and research skills. They learn to use operational skills in information and communication technologies to:
- critically design and construct texts
- search for and sort information
- communicate with others
- complete, correct and publish their work
- refine their typing and formatting skills
We expect students to present work that is of a high standard. In Years 3 to 6, students familiarise themselves with various programs including Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint and Excel. Students use computer-aided design, simulation, animation and presentation applications. They also investigate and research the socio-economic impact of technology.
Students have a high-speed connection to the Internet and their personal school-based email accounts. An acceptable Internet Use Policy applies.
