The Mathematics curriculum at the Islamic College encourages the students to develop confidence and competence to use mathematical skills in dealing with everyday situations. The study of mathematics involves: observing, representing, and investigating patterns in our environment.

Mathematics in Years 3 to 6 aims to develop the students' ability to:

  • understand the purposes, uses and practices of mathematics
  • understand and use mathematical language
  • be confident and appropriate users of mathematics
  • gain pleasure from mathematics and appreciate its wide applications
  • apply their mathematics learning to other subjects and to life
  • appreciate the role of mathematics in other cultures

We regularly revise all topics to ensure that our students have appropriate skills in Mathematics.
