The study of Science aims to provide opportunities for students to 'work scientifically', to use a scientific approach to solve problems and to try and answer the many questions they have about the natural world.

Year 3 to 6 students learn to make hypotheses and conduct 'fair' experiments or investigations of increasing complexity. In-class lessons on Earth and Space, Energy Systems, Life Systems and Matter are based on the SACSA Framework. In Year 6, students participate in sessions with a specialist Science teacher in a fully equipped laboratory. Lessons are supported with 'Science Week' activities, University of NSW Science Competitions and excursions to the Investigator Science Centre or other natural environments.
